As part of our commitment to providing a high-quality, fast and reliable cloud-based service, API Suite has a Fair Use Policy (FUP) for its API Suite Service product, set out as follows.
1. Entity Monitoring
The FUP contains guidelines for customers’ use of the API Suite Service to ensure that each customer has a consistently high-quality experience. API Suite takes measures to ensure usage is within reasonable parameters and in accordance with the subscription.
2. Why do we have a Fair Use Policy?
The API Suite Service is made available as a cloud-based service. This means that our products are used on API Suite environments concurrently by a number of subscribers. If a single customer places very high demands on the service then it is possible that this will affect the experience for other users.
The vast majority of our customers use their service considerately and their usage levels during peak hours don’t disproportionately affect the shared network and service capacity. Even though only a very small number of our customers may use the service excessively, their activity has the potential to affect the service for others.
Our FUP manages excessive use and makes sure the service can be used fairly by everyone.
3. The Fair Use Policy
Usage of API Suite Service is monitored on a continuous basis. Only customers that consistently generate exceptionally high load over a sustained period of time will be affected by the API Suite FUP.
This is currently defined as detailed below in sections 3.3 and 3.4, although API Suite reserves the right to amend these from time to time.
3.1 The FUP covers the use of API Suite Service
3.2 Use of the API Suite Service is charged monthly or annually on a per-customer basis;
3.3 Fair use of the product is driven by distinct activity in each portal, including:
-the number of third party organisations onboarded;
-the number of users created;
-the number of APIs and client applications made available;
-the volume of images and other media uploaded;
-the API traffic request volumes (including Marketplace app synchronizations).
3.4 The FUP is governed based on reasonable use of the portal in terms of the activity noted in 3.3.
3.5 If, in the opinion of API Suite and at its sole discretion, a customer’s use exceeds or repeatedly exceeds this FUP, then API Suite reserves the right to restrict service or levy charges for excessive usage.
We will notify the customer when they begin to exceed the FUP, in order for them to be aware of the issue and take action to better manage the situation.
4. Extenuating Circumstances
API Suite understands that customers will occasionally have very high volumes of activity outside of normal usage patterns. In those cases where this activity can be predicted the customer shall inform API Suite with as much notice as possible to ensure that service delivery remains consistently high.
5. Changes to the Fair Use Policy
This Fair Use Policy may be updated from time to time, and the latest version of the document will be made available in this page.
